Drive a 87 Regal Special , 307 eng. 3 spd. trans . Upgrated diff to EatOn possi .
Stock ride for the most part .
New to the G body , this is actually my firat one . Ive usually worked on Camaros.
Always loved the g body style though.
Had a few ?'s .
Can i put 350 heads on my 307 ??
Also what would have to be done to
do a 700r4 swap from a 88 corvette??
I noticed the frame kind of runs out space for the trans crossmember .
Is there a braket that i would have to get to acomplish this swap??
Also floor shifter swap.
What would be needed to do this??

Any info would be much appreciated...
Thank you ....

Welcome to the site. Lots of good people here.
As to your questions, I'm probably better off to let someone here who is more knowledgeable about Oldsmobile engines answer your cylinder head question, but off the top of my head, I can't see any advantage to swapping 350 heads onto your 307. There may be clearance issues, depending on valve diameter, and what you really need is a bit more displacement, before you start looking at different heads (although I understand that a bigger engine probably isn't an option, because of California smog laws).
As for the 700 trans swap, I'm not sure that will work either. The Olds engine has a different bellhousing bolt mounting pattern than the Chevrolet, and if the 700 doesn't have the correct bolt pattern to mount to the Olds engine, then you're dead in the water there. You might want to shop around for a donor G body car that has the 200R4 4 speed auto, and a floor shifter. Most 200R4 transmissions have a dual bolt pattern bellhousing, that will allow you to mount it to either the Chev or BOP engines, and if you found a factory floor shift car (Monte SS, Olds 442, Buick GN as examples), then you'd have all of the parts you need to do the trans swap, as well as all of the parts for the floor shifter conversion as well. Just a thought. Hope this helps.

Yep, an Olds 350 (if you get tired of the 307, it's a good engine but power potential is Meh at best) and a nice rebuild 200r4 with a shift improver kit and 3.42 and up gears will work wonders. Tried and true recipe for these cars. GM small block, 300-350 horse, minor suspension work, even just stock type bushings and springs and shocks, new rear gears, posi, and an O/D trans makes a GREAT car.
