Hello every body. New member here from central Illinois with a newly purchased 1983 Cutlass! I purchased the Cutlass as a replacement for my Harley as I just got in a bad accident and I'm still recovering. The forum has already taught me a lot and has helped keep me busy while I recover.

The car was found on Craigslist as I was on a mission for a project car after I knew my mom would kick my *ss if I rode a motorcycle again. I searched for weeks for project cars and years 1950 thru 1990 and finally this Cutlass popped up. The car was only a mile from my house and the guy was a motivated seller! I stole the car for a measly $850!

The plans thus far for the car is to have a modern clean low look. I plan on removing the trim and the half top and priming the body until I decide on a final paint color. I plan on lowering the car slightly on 18" black powdercoated rims also found on eBay for a steal. The stereo will be upgraded with a double din, new speakers, and a single ported 10 or 12 in the trunk.

Car looks nice. Just a heads up if on the stereo. The stock location is a 1.5 din not a double din. Also it is a bit shallower than standard din. You will need to be ready to make changes. It is actually easier to make it fit a single din than expand it to fit a double. As for the speakers the dash ones are to small for high end sound. Mikes Montes caries allot of parts, including door panels that accept 4.5-5.5 inch speakers.

Tk- I've seen several photos/videos of it done and it's worth the shot! Here's some examples I've seen.. Anyone else seen the vent/clock delete?

I was thinking in the stock location of my Monty Carlo. Not in a different location like that.
