Hi, I'm Mike from Maryland, and picked up a 84 GP about 6 months ago. This forum has been a fantastic source for information, and I figured it's time for me to step in and give a big thanks to the members here for their contribution to making this a great site.
I picked it up for a decent price, but didn't realize just how much work I got myself into! This car is a V6 conversion, supposedly with a 350 that only needed a starter. It turned out to be a 305 with a loose starter and a bad head gasket. The V8 conversion was a epic botch, with only one engine mount connected to the frame for starters. So I've spent the past 6 months ironing out some of the problems to make this thing less of a fiery deathtrap.
I've had numerous cars- 2 Camaros, a few Novas, a couple Mustangs, 84 Cutlass, and many more that I'm sure I have forgotten about. I drove the cutlass over 20 years ago when I first got my drivers license, so nostalgia has brought me back to the G body.
