Proud owner of a 1987 Chevy Monte Carlo with a Hienz 57 problem. Brought it in 2005 as a daily driver when I was a college student. Body is a base Monte Carlo but PO changed the rims and front bumper to SS styling. Transmission was DOA so he wanted to get rid of it. I was gifted a Turbo 350 (only lasted a few years), to get it rolling. Engine crapped out and I traded for another motor. Young college kid that didn't know any better, all I know is it got me from A to B. Year later as I had minor issues with the car, I had problems because I didn't have any info on the motor. Boom, cousin came and I was gifted with a motor out of a 91 Firebird that was wrecked in the rear beyond saving. I'm rolling again, then boom there goes the gift transmission. Then comes my daughter so the car went into storage. I have tinkered with it over the last 4 years starting it and such to make sure the motor doesn't lock up, but never got it back on the road. Until now! I finally have a chance to get this car back to a respectable state. Will be starting with a transmission (700r4) and working my way up. I hope to get a Chevy motor in this car before next summer.
