Just registered on the forum this week and I thought Id introduce myself.
I have been into Oldsmobiles since around 2001. My 1st Olds was an 84 sedan:
It was powered by the mighty 231/th200, sad to say it was totaled around 2007. During the time I owned my sedan I also picked up an 85 Cutlass Supreme Brougham coupe with a 307/th200 thinking it would be an upgrade from the 231 but decided to let it go when someone backed into the rear right quarter and I found out how expensive body work and paint can be. Before it went to the yard I took everything I could from it and picked up an 81 CSB coupe which is my current project. Here is what it looked like when i first picked it up:
This one was also powered by a 231 and had a host of problems from non-functioning power windows to a slipping transmission. Decided more power was needed and dropped an Olds350/th2004r combo in it as well as the interior of the 85 since its interior was trashed. This is what it looked like after adding SSIII wheels that were on the sedan:
At this point I threw SC&C's stage II suspension at it, springs/shocks and even an 8.5" from a 85 T-type which I owned maybe for about 5 months and sold for slightly less than I paid for it. About a year later the 350 spun a rod bearing and I decided it was time for more power so I picked up a 76 Toro with about 40k miles, pulled its engine and sent it to car heaven since you almost cant give them away here.
At the same time I sent my 81 to paint so I stripped it completely and decided I would also restore the interior. Here is how it currently sits:
All i need now is to finish putting it all together, only missing a few pieces which I can hopefully source out in the next couple of months. I cant wait to start driving it and finally enjoy it as this has been at least a 7 year project mostly due to not being able to work on it. Again just wanted to introduce myself and hopefully share some of my limited knowledge and look at some of the awesome projects here. Lastly wanted to share my last daily driver, an 89 Olds Toro Trofeo which is no longer on my stable:
