Hello, my name is John and I live in Warrenton VA.

I have been watching the forum for a while and decided to join. I finally picked up a 87 GN about 2 months ago that had been sitting outside for over 15 year. Its not pretty and had been under a tree with a broken T top for the past 10 years. Last registered in 1999 in WV and parked after the previous owner heard a rattling noise. Odometer has about 69K, but the speedo cable is disconnected. Motor turns over but gas tank was full of rust and the turbo shaft is real loose, thus the rattle. Anyways I have been wanting a GN since I drove one new in 86 but opted for a SVO Mustang instead. So now I have one.

I am new to G bodies, so have lots of questions. I think its best to swap out the body since this one is rusted in the usual places, rear quarters, trunk, deck lid, floors and under the doors, etc. All in all its a project that will keep we occupied for a while. Any local leads on a Regal body are appreciated. In fact what years will work? Can any G body tub work? Found a Cutlass T top car that might be an interesting donor.

Thanks in advance for any input

Welcome to the forum-Im from Hampton, Va, myself. Sounds like you have quite the project ahead. You might get more hits if you post up in the technical part of the forum. Keep us updated on your progress!

Welcome to the site. Let me get this right, you want to take a GN body off the car and put on a non GN back on? That must be a first. Good luck with your project tho. 😀 Is it really that bad? :worthless:

Welcome from West Michigan, John.
