Hi everyone!
I've been lurking the board for a while getting as much info as I can from you all, but it seemed like it was time to sign up and participate for myself.
I bought my first G-Body car about 3 months ago. It is a joy to own and drive in. I'm very excited for how much better it can get after doing work on it over the next year or two.
The car is black with a landau top. 5.0, 200-4R. It's got Cragar SS wheels with 245s in the back and 225s in the front. Other than that, it's basically stock.
Since I got it, I've replaced:
Front upper and lower ball joints (stock size)
Rotors, calipers, pads
Front wheel bearings
Rear wheel cylinders
Rear shoes, drums, hardware
Rear brake lines
Front and rear flex lines
Front and rear shocks (Monroe OE spectrum)
Plugs, wires, rotor, cap, coil
Upper and lower radiator hoses
coolant, oil/filter, brake fluid
Air Filter
PCV valve
Fuel filter
New battery (Optima Red Top)
Now I know I have a few more things to do to get it perfect for driving, like new transmission fluid and filter, differential fluid, suspension bushings, etc... It also needs a bit of body work on the front and rear bumper covers, as well as repairing a few chipped areas in the paint, but there's nothing major wrong with the car and no major rust damage.
Once it gets warmer here, I'll be able to get a lot more of that stuff done. But, so far it's been relatively hassle free and the maintenance I've done has been pretty simple to accomplish. I've purchased the factory repair manual (the big blue one), so I'll finally have something to reference during my repairs in the future. I hope to drive this car for a good long time, and to enjoy it on a daily basis. Hopefully I can learn a lot from the people on this board, and you can all help me to prolong the enjoyment i receive from this car.
I'm not sure what else to say. I've probably said too much already. See everyone around!
