Whadup everybody Im new to the G body scene, hell new to the V8 scene. I have been an import guy all my life but have recently seen the light. I now own a 87 monte ss yes the love/hate aerocoupe and Im trying to get this bad boy running. It has been sitting in my dads driveway for 5 years now and I finally convinced him to let me have it. He let me have it alright $1500 for a non working monte ss. LOL its all good pop. Anywho Im putting a mild 383 and I dont care what anyone says the 200r will withstand the new beasts numbers (it will be rebuilt and beefed up a bit). I will add some before pics pretty soon. Again hello everybody and I look for to learning more from the members in this forum.

Sounds like a good project. And even not running $1500 is still a good deal for an aero-coupe.
The 383 will be a fun motor in there, and yes, with the right build, a 200-4R will hold up fine.
