I am thinking about designing a CNC machined aluminum bracket to allow the installation of 4th gen F body rear disc brakes on to a 3 bolt flange 7.5 10 bolt axle. This would allow these easily accessible brakes to be fitted to any 7.5 10 bolt axle as a bolt on installation. I have a friend who works in a machine shop that I could get to do a production run for me if I design a prototype. The thing is, I don't know if I should order a short run of 10 parts or just the two I need. I figure I could sell them on E Bay for a small profit if the market exists. So, what I want to know is if anyone thinks there would be interest in them if I can get them done, and what price point would be considered reasonable. This way I can see if they can be made for a price people are willing to pay. I am not asking for anyone to commit to this, just for an opinion.

I have a product idea for you. You know how people sell an aluminum piece to replace the factory front bumper shocks that connect the inner bumper to the frame horn. These little pieces save like 8lbs I think per side. You no longer have a little shock absorber but it takes a lot of weight off the nose which depending on what is important to the owner has been worth it to 1,000s of gbody owners over the years. Well what if intead of just this shock replacement piece you took out the very heavy steel inner bumper and stretched the brackets out to hold the outer bumper in place. It would be an "off road" only product but it would take hugh weight off the front and allow the car to look very close to stock.

I don't know about the LS1 brakes, but my idea is to basically make a bracket that allows you to run the stock caliper bracket and bolt on all 4 bolts to a separate bracket that then bolts to the axle housing. So, theoretically, if they both have the same axle flange, they would both work the same.

I would like to see one done. I would basically look at the price of ones online and look at the cost for you to have them made and see if there is really any room to make a profit and to really save money compared to whats availible. If its only 10-30 dollar savings its probably not worth it (with the gas spent driving around, your time, and material cost) but if there is a 50-100 dollar difference then i would give it a shot.

Does anyone actually make this already? If so, I would just buy it from them instead of going through all the time and expense of having it made.

That's for you to figure out. lol.. Do your research, no one's going to hand you anything. Ok, I'll help, scarebird makes a bracket for the 7.5, but it's for the Cadillac calipers. I'd rather have something to fit the 12" LS1's on back.

kore 3 is coming out with one at some point. it's for c5/c6 brakes but i believe they have the same dimensions. they've been working on them slowly but surely. the more interest they know is in them the faster they'll get them out.
