Well its off to the shop I go to get my new tires mounted, balanced and installed. I'm hoping I don't have to remove my lower springs to get these to fit. Worse case scenario is roll the wheel lips and a small wheel spacer. Here's a couple pics of the tires I'm putting on.

Tires are BFG G force Drag Radial 275/50R15 for the rear and BFG G force Super Sport 195/60R15.
I can't wait to get these on and try them out. Hopefully the tires will help with my issues of tire spin.

Chris

I have seen those on a GN before, but it is a tight fit.

The Edlebrock anti-hop bars seemed to really help with my traction issues.

I mounted my tires on the factory wheels but when I went to put them on the car the passenger side fit like a glove. The drivers side was not a good fit at all, would have needed a spacer and roll the wheel lip and still would have been to close. A good friend of mine had a set of Centerline wheels laying around the garage that he isn't going to use. I test fit them on the car with a 295/50 and the backspacing is perfect. I put my new tires on the wheels and mounted on car, only thing I have to do is roll the wheel lips to keep from rubbing over small bumps. The 275/50 is a good fit and really fills the wheel wells up good.
Will get some good pics of the car today, hopefully weather permitting, and get them posted up.

Chris

Why are G body rear ends off center!?!?!?!?! My Elco and my GN both seem to have the exact same issue you do. When I get to heaven that is one of the questions I'd like to ask God.

I run the 275/50/15 Nitto drag radials on my GN on a 15x8 widened factory rim. Fits perfect and looks great. I like them a lot. Watch the BFGs if you hit any rain they are not rain friendly. Also be careful with the 195/60s up front as they are so short you will bottom and scrape stuff like speedbumps and driveway entrances. If you have been running regular radials on the back you will love how much better drag radials hook and even when they spin they recover so much better and end up being a safer tire to hot rod on the street.

Well I got my issues all taken care of with the tire rub I was having. Easiest thing to do was remove the rear drop springs and re install my factory springs. To me the car sits perfect now, the gap between the tire and fender lip is even front and back. Rides so much better now, my wife actually likes to drive in it now.
This is the first set of drag radials I have ever owned and all I can say about them is WOW. What a difference between regular radial tires and drag radials. I rolled on it pretty hard today to see how the will hook. The car started to spin a bit when boost came up in first but when the tires got a little heat in them they hooked and set me back into the seat and the car pulled hard. I will not go back to a regular radial tire after owning these. 😀
Hopefully get some good pics soon, if mother nature ever cooperates and lets the sun come out.

Chris

Finally mother nature decided to play nice and let the sun shine bright and the temp is up to. Gonna make for a nice long weekend. Here's a few pics of my Regal with new rims and tires. I'm still not sure if I like the wheels yet. Let me know what you think.

I've got those tires too, but 275/60R16

and I'm surprised by the difference in the center tread width!

mine were on the car very briefly before they were removed... facing rubbing issues as well. But looking at your's, I'm wishing I had gone with the 275/50R15s instead of the 60's

I had thought about going with the 275/60 drag radial but was worried that the 28' tall tire would jack the back of the car up to much, or rub really bad on the inner wheel well. I can't believe the difference in the center section between the 50 series to the 60 series. How bad are yours rubbing Khan? Are they rubbing on the frame or the wheel lip? My rears would rub really bad on the wheel lips when I had my drop springs in with passengers in the car. Wouldn't rub at all with just me in it and the car looked good with the tires stuffed up in the wheel well but I like to take my wife and son in the car with me so I removed the springs, for now. Going to have to do a notch on the frame so I can lower the rear of the car back down and I am planning on running a 325/50 15 Drag Radial in the future.

they don't fit well at all... the rear frame rails have been replaced in this car's past, and I'm guessing geometry is slightly off.

here's how they look on the frame

little better with a 3/8" spacer

eventually tho... with the spacer, they didn't rub on the frame. But instead they were catching the fender skirt going over bumps. I had alot of weight in the car, so I imagine it's better without the weight, but I still don't want to risk it. The tires are off until I can roll the fenders.

for some reason, I've noticed people are able to stuff otherwise too large a tire under Regals... more comfortably than the other G's
