i just bought a 84 regal limmited v8 auto from one of my friends for $150 runs and drives around yard it has sat sence 1991 but only has 45 000 kms on it also have service records to prove it,but i was wondering how to tell if it is a 307 or a 305 it has a a nice amount of power for a stock motor and will light up the tires with the 2:23 gears plans are to restore it full body job and add some gn/gnx parts like hood and fender flares but not sure yet give me your opions of what i should do with it

To tell if it's a Olds or Chevy engine, look at the valve covers. If it has 4 bolts, it's a Chevy. If it has more than 4, it's most likely an Olds.

If it will move the car out of the way while spinning the tires its a chevy Olds are slow.

yea its a 305 sbc chevy i asked my buddy he ran the numbers on it when it was out and painted but it has way more power than his other 305's but its really low miles 27961/45000 km here in canada

i think i got a great deal on it as the engine and trans are worth $ 150 and the car is compleat and i know where all the rot is becuase i helped him tear it apart and fix the floors so the hard works is all ready done and i know what was done and exactly what it needs
