Hey, stumbled onto the site while I was googling some info on my car. I own an 80 GP with the awesomely overpowered 4.3, or 265?? for old timers like me when it was advertised in cubic inches instead of metric. I've owned the car for about 3 years, originally purchased for my son to drive to school. Kids today are spoiled with fuel injection and he complained about mileage and how it ran when cold. Carburator choke?? Whats that? Anyway, a slight mishap with a deer, parked for awhile as we found him something more gas friendly and fuel injected to limit his pain of warm-ups, and now its come full circle back into my hands. I bleed Pontiac blue and this GP is just one of the numerous Pontiac projects I've got going.

As soon as I find my way around here, I'll try throwing some pics up. Until then, I'll lurk and post when I have something to ad. Rick

Plans for this? Nice driver. I have to watch myself that things don't snowball as I work on it. It had a half vinyl top, big cushy plush couch like seats, and a faded blue paint job that actually faded to a pretty cool blue. Kinda like the metallic blue Pontiac engine paint. I've stripped the top, getting ready to fill in the areas around the back side windows since they hide a lot of unfinished business under those tops. I've picked up some trim from another GP to wrap those windows and the rear window. Newer GP bucket seats, added a early 90s TA wing on the trunk, and looking at something other than the old man hubcaps. Right now its still powered by the little 8, and here's where I worry about the snowballing. I'm gonna drive it for awhile with that combo, but would eventually like to drop a healthier larger Pontiac between the frame rails, box in some frame, and add a third pedal to the mix.

Other projects? I have a fleet of Firebirds to keep me busy. A 68 that I'm putting new floors, trunk, frame rails etc into, long way from finished on that one, a 67 GTO that started out to be just a quick clean up and drive scenario thats turned into new brakes, suspension, quicker steering box rust repair, engine rebuild, and on and on...........A 92 Firebird with a dead 3.1 that will get a real Pontiac between the fenders, as well as all the cars for my 4 kids. Another 3rd gen, a 4th gen Firebirds and a 90 Sunbird, as well as a, ahem, chevy or 2 in there. LOL

More plans than time or money right now. I just need to make sure I live another 40 or 50 years so I can finish them all.

Welcome aboard, Rick.
