Hello everyone.
I was looking online for information on my car (86 cutlass salon) and found this forum to be the best place. I have had the car for about three months and it is one of the best cars ive ever owned. i love the style and the v8 sound and torque. the car had a 307 in it when i bought it but about 2 weeks ago it started knocking so i took it out and found a 455 with "j" heads for $150. I am currently in the process of installing it. everything looks as though its gonna be pretty straight forward except the exhaust. it is currently my only mode of transportation so the engine is going in next weekend. ill post pictures when it is done. thanks,
Chris

welcome to the site, anything you will need to know, you will find here. lots of oldsmobile guys on here. post picts. 😀

Welcome! Even though you probably have the worst version of the 455, you should still be happy with the power. Exhaust can be a pain with a 455. Either you have to spend a lot of money for headers or I believe some manifolds should work.

i will post some pics tomorrow. i think that im gonna try to rig up a dual exhaust using the stock manifolds and get some headers in a couple of weeks. my main concern right now is to get the car on the road and to get a new drivers window (its getting cold here in indiana)
