i just stumbled upon this site a few days ago so i thought i would join. im 26 and when I was 15 i bought my first car for $250. it was a 1980 buick regal. it had the 3.8 that lasted a month of a 16 yr old driver. then i put a 305 in it. that didnt last long either. came across another 3.8 out of a 83 regal but that in and drove it for a few more months. had carb problems and wasnt going to work on that so i got another 305. that lasted one night! so the car sat for about a year. i found a 1978 buick lesabre that was wrecked with a buick 350 so i put that in bout a year later blew a head gasket. pulled that to rebiuld it. in the mean time i found a nothe buick 350 out of a 75 ponitac venture and that motor has been in ever since. the othe mods i hve done to it has been i put rear springs out of a 1980 4 dr caprice. lifted the rear to clear the 295 50 15 tires on 10" wide turbine wheels. i put a mopar hood scoop on it and it is functional with a hole cut in the hood and a k&n top filter. I swapped in some 3:08 gears with a posi carrier instead of the 2:23 open carrier. swapped in some 78 regal tail lights ( i like the smooth lights instead of the horizantal split). this is how it looks as of now its alil dusty in the pic its been in storage since '08 pulled it out to do a burnout contest.

im always up for something different. everyone puts the normal snorkels or cowl scoops on. i thought it looked good so i went that route. i wouldnt turn back now. i love it on there. mods that i plan to do in the future are 455/th400/3:73 gears. new paint. and oh yea a new frame. mine like most is gone behind the rear tires. i have a new frame waiting for it.

Welcome to the site. 8) love the story reminds me of my starting out days but instead of engines I was grabbing 79 malibu's had 3 before I could drive. I like that you went a little different route the hood looks good like it belongs and I love tho's wheels. Please feel free to post up some more pic's

Welcome! You are the swap master!...lol I always envy guys that can swap out a motor so quickly...amazes me. Of course, I have only done it once, so I guess you learn a little more everytime you do it....Nice hood scoop too...fits the car well.
