Hi,

Wanted to intro myself. My name is Andre and i'm from Ottawa, ON, CA. I own a '84 Cutlass that I bought about 7 years ago from its original owner. I had the car in late highschool and drove it for two summers. When I began college I stored it until I was finished and had the income to modify it properly.

I took it out of storage this spring to evaluate it and everything is still OK with the exception of the exhaust hanging.. Not a big deal. For the couple summers i used it I threw on 14x7 smoothies, headers w/ duals, and other minor cosmetic thingy's.. It's still powered by the wheezy old 305 SBC and backed by 200 4R. I've included a couple pics... Please ignore the hanging exhaust andf my SUV in the background 😳 ..i'm not much of a photographer.

I'm on an information gathering hunt on this forum and over the next couple months intend to gather info which will ultimately guide me in the direction I want to take the car.

The car still has original paint, top, interior, etc... I have all the factory parts including wire wheel covers and exhaust system.

Thanks,
Andre

Not really that high on my priority list, but they will likely go eventually.

i would drop out the 305 for a 350 unless you want to keep it all original in that case just rebuild the 305 with some better stuff to try to make a little more power

Yes, I plan on building another SBC for it but one of the big questions I have is in regards to fuel management. There's a lot of advantages to an EFI setup from one of the big names (Holley, Edelbrock, etc..), but in reality I want to keep this project on budget seeing as, regardless of modifications, in the end it's still an '84 Cutlass. Therefore, it will never have the dollar value of some of the more desirable "classics".

I'd like to build the project in two stages, the first one being suspension/powertrain/body. The second being interior & boost. Naturally, I'd have to make some decisions about the second "stage" before beginning with the first.
