Hey everyone. Just picked up a 80 grand lemans safari wagon. 3.8. With 85k miles. Runs descent but needs a tuneup and shocks. Parts coming. I’m including pics of how I got it and with a set of tire I threw on it. I’m a Pontiac guy so any performance tips on the 3.8 would be greatly appreciated. Looks like I’ll be on a hunt for trim pieces. The old man that had did a great job of keeping all the old trim on with self tapping screws. Lol.

Nice. Tell us its tale. Plans? If it is a 229 (K motor - distributor at the firewall) a small-block Chevy is drop-in. If it's a Buick 231 (A motor - the distributor is above the water pump), Buick/Olds/Pontiac motors will also fit. Where's home?

thanks for the input. I was thinking its a Buick but it has the distributor by the firewall. got it from a guy that was using it as a truck, seems he got from a friend that had just passed away. car has all the signs that a old man had it. trim screwed on, safety wire has been used to sew up broken plastic, only door with any signs of use is the drivers. lol. plans as of now are simply to get up and running reliably. maybe some window tint. bucket seats and console. I live just south of memphis TN.

I don't know what it is about these old wagons but I couldn't pass this one up.

Just saw this on Facebook - looks great!

Welcome to the G-body wagon world, Cool find. I was always a fan of Pontiac wagons...and all other wagons as well. . It looks great with the snowflake wheels. Unmistakably Pontiac.
Keep us updated on your progress.
