Ok i purchased a 85 cutlass two weeks ago. The guy told me he put an olds 350 in it and he rigged a electric fan to a toggle switch for it which i dont like at all. he told me he removed tthe original fan because he said it was cutting his belts on the engine and the engine is angled upward..it doesnt look like it was properly installed compared to other olds 350s..Does anybody have any idea why it seems like its not sitting in there properly? And is it true 307 exhaust manifolds and power steering pumps will bolt on to the 350?

All external parts are interchangable from a 307 to a 350. So yes the manifolds will interchange. All of the brackets and accessories will bolt up aswell.

I've seen what you are describing before :x , was your car originally a 6 cyl car? Reason I ask, I looked at a gp at one point, they guy claimed it had a 455, and that it had an electric fan because the stock one wouldn't fit under the hood, lol.
When I looked the car, couple things I noticed.
1 it was a 403
2 he left the buick V6 engine mounts in so it sat funny, as in no way a regular fan would clear the hood  .

You may want to take a pic of the engine mounts and post it up here if this sounds feesable......

It must of originally had a V6. You just need to find a pair of motor mount perches from an olds V8, then it'll sit right.

yes it was originally a v6. so can i use 307 motor mounts? And whats the proper way to get rid of the hacked up v6 wiring harness?

Yes you need to find the proper (260, 307, 350) mounts that bolt to the frame (there is a left and a right  ). For good measure put new ones on the block too, they're cheap insurance. Easiest way to attack the wiring, grab the harness from a olds v8 equipped g body.
