I've been having issues with brakes on my 87 Cutlass. It seems like I opened a can of worms🙁 The first problem was the car was losing brake fluid and I had no idea where is was going and no visible leaks were on the ground. So I proceeded to pull all the wheels and redo the rear brakes and replace the wheels cylinders because they were quite old. Now the problem is the rear brakes won't stop and during bleeding, the pedal won't go to the floor. I think the master cylinder is shot and or there is some sort of major issue going on. No rear brakes and I'm afraid to see if the front will still work. Anyone have any ideas how I can troubleshoot this?

well kinda wired the pedal wont go to the floor for the rears. one thing you can try is to remove the back break line from the wheel cylinder.have some one push the pedal and see if you are getting fluid. if not yah then there is a prob with the master cylinder. i know this is a dumb question did yah put everything back together right?

Dont forget about the prop valve. It has a reset button to keep ya from losing fluid in the event of a rear leak. It may need to be pushed back in. If the master was bad, the pedal would slowly go down to the floor, IE losing pressure. Your booster may be where the fluid is, but usually, you would see brake fluid leaking at the spot where the booster and m/c meet.
