First off i am new to this form and i would like to thank you all for the knowledgeable information that i have used and learned off of here. I drive an 84 Monte that i just swapped a 3.8 v6 to a 5.7 v8. I know that the heater and AC worked before and now it doesn't. however i have the parts car that i pulled the v8 from which is a 78 Caballero in which i know that the heater worked in it flawlessly considering it had a new blower motor and control switches. so after swapping all of this over and even the resistors i still have nothing, all that i get is a clicking noise from either one of the switches that bolt to the heater box between medium and high. am i missing something? what does these green, lite green, black, and red wires go to?

Are you sure? i tried running jumper wires and got nothing. IF that plugs in to a connector on the original engine harness than how should i go about wiring it? However it was unplugged and not disturbed on the caballero that i was driving and am now using as parts.

Your Monte has the same connector by the pass side valve cover, they just plug together, if yours has not been melted or cut out.

Nope i sold the v6 that was originally in it along with the wiring harness and ecu. How do i hot wire it the correct way.

It doesnt have anything to do with the ECU but the wiring you needed was in the engine harness it sounds like you sold. Best thing would be is to invest in a wiring diagram. The red wire in your 4 wire square connector is 12v switched the other 3 I'm not sure right off the top of my head.
See if you can follow the wiring back in your 78 harness back to the fuseblock you might be able to swap just the wires over to what you have now.

So what are you using for a engine harness now? all the engine harnesses have that connector in them. whether a v6 or v8.

I just cut the harness behind the brake booster when i sold the v6 and again on the caballero, matched up the wire colors and started it. The previous owner of the caballero ran all new wiring from this location, to the alt, starter, battery, distributor and used mechanical gauges.

Re:.still No heater/Ac after swap?

It is starting to get cold here in boise id and i need my heater working, can somebody please help me figure this out. the wiring diagram in my haynes manual sucks and is not helpfull. i have tried using jumper wires where red was on + black was on neg and the two green wires were in the ac compressor, which is how i think it is suppost to go but i still had nothing.

Check here for wiring diagrams...http://www.autozone.com/autozone/repair ... 5280051873. The colors don't seem to match what you have though. Seems to be some kind of relay wiring harness. I would try to give 12v to the big red, ground the big black, switch 12v to lt green, switch ground to dark green. See what happens.
