Well my project wagon i just brought home hasnt been licensed since 92 and has had a fair share of mice in it which i think could be part of my problem. I put in a brand new battery and tried starting it and got nothing. I noticed the BRAKE light comes on with the key turned to start on the right side of the panel otherwise nothing, no solenoid click, no teeth engaging, nothing. With the radio turned up i get some fuzz throught the speakers and the sound stops as soon as i turn key to start also. I dont have power to anything else on the car. This made me think the battery didnt come charged soo i brought it home and charged it, charger said full soo i brought it back out and got the same results. Terminal connections are good. The positive terminal has a single cable coming off of it to the starter, is this correct? No second power line going to a fuse box or something? If the single cable is correct how does the fuse box and the rest of the car get power? I dont have a problem rewiring if i have to. Also i tried to use a screwdriver to short across the starter to see if the motor was free and i got sparks but still no starter engagement. Im going to pull the starter and test it this weekend.

Ok buddy you have fusable links on the 79 wagon so sounds like one maybe burnt so I would test it with a wire from positive post to the alternator and check to see if you have power you can add a fse to the wire just incase of a short remember this is only to test it out , if it works I would eliminate the fusable links and put a fuse panel in its place I rewired mine because of this problem and it way more simple

That sounds great thank you, i have dealt with a few fusible links but am unsure where they are located on this car. Do you know where it would be on this car?

If its built like my 79 monte carlo its behind the pass head , valve cover , I followed the line that runs from the starter to the distributer behind the engine
