I have a 94 Suburban 4x4 with a TBI 350. This thing runs good until you shut it off after it warms up. Once its shut off and started back it runs like sh*t for a few minutes. It shoots out a big cloud of smoke when you give it gas. If I keep my foot on it it will finally start running good again. I have checked the timing, new plugs and wires, distributor, timing chain, fuel filter, and also a new throttle position sensor. I am about to my end with this thing. Any ideas on what it could be? Or anything else I should check?

Sounds like something is wrong with fuel delivery. Sounds to be flooding. Might be a bad injector, regulator or something of that sort. Not to informed on TBI systems, but I know a bout FI systems. Good luck.

What color smoke white, blue-ish, black, etc? After all the stuff you checked one thing that comes to mind is maybe the EGR valve if its getting stuck open it would cause your car to smoke and run really crappy and not idle... But run okay if you're on the throttle.

The throttle body are notorious for the inj bleeding down. After you shut truck down remove air cleaner and see if you see fuel dripping from the injecters. If so the throtle body is due for a rebuild. That would cause a hard start and smome also would run like crap due to being flooded.

Black is fuel check that throttle body inj for leakage

Well thank you guys it was the injectors. Once it was turned off the one on the drivers side kept dripping. It is now running good.
