My buddy has a 200-4r that he wants to not have lock-up at all. other than a non-locking converter what needs to be done or changed?

that's really it. you can also unplug the wiring harness on the side.

I'm not a trans expert but when I bought my Art Carr non-lockup trans, they said that they also modify the fluid passage in the trans so that instead of still sending fluid to the converter that would normally be used for the lockup function, they send it out to the cooler instead.

That makes sense....everywhere I read it says that using the lock-up is meant to decrease transmission temperatures and lock the engine crankshaft and transmission together to increase fuel economy. It also says that running a non-lockup should only be used on strip cars not for street and only thing it will really do for car is reduce a small amount of slippage in converter and prolong the life of the converter.

If just the converter is changed, make sure you run a BIG cooler.
