Well I look around all over the place at what people have done to there el camino's. Also engine swaps I am into the most right now. Well the one question I had is why is it that I seem to find that older El Camio's like 78-83 have the small block to big block swap. There are some older elkies with sbc to bbc swap. Just wondering if there is a reason or not.

well depending on there bank and what there going to use the car for, id say that switching from a sbc to a bbc is for more hp. you can get a custom sbc that can be bored and stroked to a 454 but thats BIG bucks. some people prefere the sound of a bbc compaired to the sbc as well. and its also a cool thing to be asked " whatcha got in there?" and you get to say "i gotta big block". so depending on what ya wanna do with your car; drag racing, show car, crusin, or pro touring. id prefere an all alum. bbc in my elky, but thats not affordable to me. thats just my $0.02.
