Oldsmobile stamped valve covers

Curious on details on the stock valve covers that come stamped with ''Oldsbile'' on them. Are these a special option that Oldsmobile offered or is this a sertion year, make, or model thing? Reason I ask, I due my old man was at the wrecking yard and pulled some valve covrrs for me state now my rocket can be a rocket blah blah. I told it already is lol its a 68 block on thing that did spark my interest is the fact the valve covers were olds gold, but they came off a 77 model my old man said

I could be wrong but it is my understanding that the valve covers with Oldsmobile stamped on them were a '72 only feature.

After looking into it a little more it seems I was off by a year, they're actually '73 only.

Yep. '73 only. I sold a set on ebay to a guy that wanted to chrome them. They're getting harder to find in good shape.
