Opinions on Magnaflow?

i want to runa sing DI/DO muffler paralell to the rearend like stock. i am looking for a muffler that is throaty but not way too loud i was looking at magnaflow 11379 and have heard good things that the sound mellows out as you start crusing and i like the sound of that so any input on magnaflows typical sound (this is going on straight pipes no cats on an olds 350 with manifolds with the crossover deleted)

I recently put the Magnaflow 12266 SI/DI on my 62 Olds F-85 and it's loud but mellow. No droning like a Flowmaster. Note that the 12266 has an 18" long body. The one you're looking at is only 11", which may make it louder.

I'm pretty happy with mine. I previously ran cherry bombs and then dynomax bullets(hardly a muffler). The magnaflows are much quieter at crusie speed, but will still get ya noticed when ya get on it. There is another thread(or 2) that i've posted a sound clip on. If ya can't find it,a nd want it, i'll post it here also.

Here ya go. This is 2 1/2in with an x-pipe but it should give you an idea.

i had them on my 83 el camino with 3 in pipe for manifolds all the way back sounded nice to me..

I definately prefer the flowmaster sound, flowmaster super40's and super44's are where it's at, imo. Flowmasters are a pretty "moan-ey" muffler though. You don't growl away when you gas it, flowmasters "moan" away when you gas it. The effect is amplified when you add headers, ive noticed. But yeah still defs prefer flowmasters, never could get into the magnaflows.
