just picked up a 85 monte that has a 700 trans installed...od was not hooked up ..was wondering what it will take to have this trans od work [type of wiring and approx cost to have it done]..thanks

Not quite understanding the question. What is meant by the OD is "not hooked up"?
Are you referring to the lockup torque convertor? The TV cable?

More info needed.

and are you sure that it's a 700, not a 200R4 which also has OD?
OD is selected by the shifter. if the original shifter only had D21 when you're in D it's actually OD, 2 is D and, 1 is 2nd, 1st you won't be able to get to manually.
200r4 or 700r4, either one, MUST HAVE the Throttle Valve cable installed and properly adjusted!!!!!!!!!!!
on both transmissions the electrical plug is for the torque converter lock-up, you're going to want to hook that up. check out Bowtie Overdrives for the cheapest and easiest kit for that.

it's a 700 ...have receipt of rebuild..the previous owner had it installed but they didn't have some cable or bracket to complete the job...??..it has a holley carb...B&M shifter that says in the instructions that it can be used with an overdrive transmission ..just want an idea of whats up when I go to trans shop and ask to have this hooked up ...dont want to get hosed for lack of info ..dealt with trans shops before
