Hey hey!

I'm currently replacing the old frayed and worn out parking brake cables of a 78 Lemans and I'm kind of stuck. The original cables were designed for rear drum brakes, but according to SSBC, the installed disc brakes work fine with the stock cables. I swapped the cables and prior to installing the new ones from Raybestos & Dorman, I compared both to see if the sleeves were identical. Only the cables themselves were a little shorter (1 to 1.5 inch) but i guess that's normal since they were so worn out, they couldn't transfer any braking power.

BUT: now I can't hook up the front cable to the rear cables via the connector, as the distance is to long (2.5 inch) and I'm unable to pull the cable into place for the connector to hook up. Even if the connector gets done first, I still can't get enugh pulling power on the cables to hook it up to the brakes themselves I got the system on the picture below.

My question now is: does anyone of you have detailled instructions on how to solve this? The Haynes Manual is not a big help as they only provide instructions for a V-cable based parking brake system. A big thank you in advance for any help!
