Hi everyone! New here and have one major question that I need answered for now. I have an 82 malibu, 229 V6, TH350C. I'm keeping the transmission, and I have a 91 LO5 350ci from a K5 blazer that's going in. I have everything but what I need for the flywheel/torque converter. I've read in many different forums this is possible, but no parts are ever listed. Also read that the problem lies with how the flywheel bolts up, and being a one piece rear seal instead of two piece. If this question was already listed and answered I'm sorry for throwing it up there again. Any help on this mating procedure would be greatly appreciated.

thanx

According to the 2008 GM Performance Parts catalog, there are 3 different flexplates listed for the 1986 & up small block engines with one piece rear main seals. Part number 14088765 is listed as being a 12.75" diameter flexplate with a 10.75" converter bolt pattern and 153 starter ring gear teeth. Part number 12554824 is listed as a heavy duty flexplate with increased thickness for a one piece crank seal. It is 14" in diameter, with a 11.50" converter bolt pattern, and 168 starter ring gear teeth. The last part number is 14088761. It is listed as a 14" diameter flexplate with both 10.75" and 11.50" converter bolt patterns and 168 starter ring gear teeth. Hope this helps.

Thank you very much! I do believe the dual bolt pattern is the one I need. But wait, I have a 153 tooth now. Will there be a clearance problem between the 168 tooth assembly and the bell housing? The 350 uses the 168, and I have the starter.
