I had the passenger window down and back up earlier today without any troubles. Now it is stuck halfway up and it looks like its going to rain so i have the cover on right now.

Both the drivers side switch and the passenger side switch wont move it. The drivers side window goes up and down fine.

I did some searching on the forums, but did not find a scenario exactly like mine.

I did try wiggling the drivers side switch and passenger switch, to see if it was sending the "off" signal but had no luck.

Where should i start?

Based off of what i have been reading a lot of power window problems are caused by the switches rather than the motor. (correct me if im wrong)

I do have motors off of my '85 Oldsmobile Cutlass as well as the switches. Would these parts be interchangable?

Thanks in advance -Mike

well i had the same prob,it ened up being my switch.the way i tested mine back yard mechanic way was to remove my door panel and unplug the motor, then hooked up a couple of wires to my plug hooked them on a battery charger and if it rolled up or down the switch is bad,if not motor is bad. or could be wire to door. you could also get om meter, and test the switch by checking continuity.

Take your door panel off and make sure the connector is plugged into the motor. Being the passenger side you should be able to see it good in one of the holes in the door. Sounds stupid but mine came undone awhile back. The only thing I can think of that caused it was the window pulling on the wires when it went down and eventually grabbing the wires enough to disconnect them from the motor. Hope this is what it is because its a FREE repair

It was the motor. Went to auto zone and picked up a new one for 30 bucks everything is all good now and it goes up and down a lot faster now.

Thanks for the help guys.

Damn only 30 bucks cool . i need to get me some power window tracks when i got some cash to spend.
