Is it easy to remove the passenger wood grain trim where the vents are , I want to paint the wood grain black

The passenger side is held in with molded in plastic clips you just have to gently pry it out of the dash with a nylon pry tool or some equivalent so you don't scratch anything.
If you are painting the passenger side why not also paint the dash bezel instead of buying one?
I painted all my dash parts in a semi gloss black over the original woodgrain.
