pearl?

the car is in the body shop. And I can't decide on a color. The interior is charcoal grey and black so im going to paint the car a dark grey with some kind of pearl effect over it. So far I have a dark grey Mica with a fine green and blue pearl in it. The painter is spraying it out today on a test panel so I should have pics by monday. But give me some opinions on what pearl would look good aganst a dark grey.

The color that you've got in mind will look good, IMO. Dark grays are nice with a blue and/or green pearl.
I just recently sprayed a Dodge Ram with 2000 Chrysler "Night Storm" (paint code AW), it had a blue cast to it and had a nice effect, probably darker that what you planned though.

A friend painted his car black with red mica, and it turned out a deep purple, almost black rose. Looked good...

it could look real good, but dont wreck it!! its super hard to color match a pearl color later on. 8)

So I went and checked on the test panel and I'm really not feeling the color. the curved surface made the paint look more silver then anything and the pearl blueish green was here and there. I'm going to try this one more time and if it doesn't work the car might end up silver.

Is this a factory color or a custom mix?

Its an oe color but he sprayed two, one with added pearl and the other being the or color its self.im going back tomorrow for a look. At another panel with silver pearl added over it.

Lots of body work later this is what I have its only a guide coat but it almost done. As for now the color I've chose is a charcoal grey with a silver pearl to it.

If you like a flakey pearl you might want to look into sem white lightening fx or hok white ice pearl it really pops allot fyi they are the same thing.
