play in drive shaft

hello. just wondering how much play is allowed in a driveshaft I got it cut 2 n a half inches it was around the size I needed.

Are you talking about it sliding in the slip yoke?

yes that's what I mean.

I dont know any exact specs... Try fully extending and compressing the suspension and make sure it doesnt fall out or bind.

I believe most slip yokes are 4 or 5 inches long. So if it is only moving 1 or 2 inches it should be fine.
