Plumbing Question

Me and my dad ripped out and bypassed the old broken pool heater that had developed a large leak. Whole thing was badly rotted out. Had to buy a $50 copper to PVC commercial fitting for the bypass. I don't care what anybody says, S80 PVC is much better for pools than typical S40 PVC.

There is no packing nut. It's a little rubber washer on the end of a 1/4×12" shaft. I replaced it, and it worked better but it's still dripping. It's one of those frost free doo-dads.

If it drips when the hose is off, it's the frost free. If when the hose is connected, check the rubber washer in the end of the hose.

I am having the same problem with my no frost sillcock. However, my problem continues and is merely on my to-do list at this time.

For your, I would try to find the heaviest duty washer possible. If not, able to find a HD washer then try doubling up the washer. If it still leaks then I believe that you have a corroded or flawed seat for the washer (which means buy a new sillcock).

Let us know how you make out as it will definitely help me when I get to this item on my to-do list.
