I been kickin round the idea of buying one of these cars. There is limited info that I can find. I don't know what to do as far as getting one for an investment for my grandson. I'm near 60 years young and just started messin with g bodies about 2 years ago. I got an 87 442 and 87 el camino. I don't have much mechanical ability and that has been a problem for me finding someone to work on these cars. What are the thoughts of the forum?

Did you already find one? They are really rare, I don't remember the exact production numbers, but I think there was 200 or so made. They are much rarer than any of the 442 Cutlasses from the 80's. As far as an investment, they aren't really worth much considering their production numbers, I think only a little more than Monte Carlo aerocoupes. I think the engines were the base 305 Chevrolet engines, which isn't a bad thing unless you want to drag race it or something. But then again, since they came with a small block Chevy, any variation will bolt right in.

There was a "Buyers Guide" article on them in Hemming's Muscle Machines. They based the article on one that a guy kept in his garage on jackstands with only a few thousand miles that driven very rarely.

Though it is a cool & rare car I agree it would not be that valuable unfortunately
