Other than the factory 301 installations, is anyone running a Pontiac 350, 400 or 455 in one of our cars with working A/C? I'm looking to start gathering parts to make it happen. Not sure whether 301 brackets & lines can be modified to work, or if I'm better off using the old A6 compressor somehow with custom lines. I imagine parts for the R4 set-up would be easier to acquire and fit without trouble. I'm open to suggestions too.

I took all the stuff off of a 301 in a bone yard. I believe the belt will have to be longer due to the taller deck height of the 400, but it all bolted on. never had it working and now I think I'm just going to convert over to the non air box. But I think 301 stuff will work with little to no modifications.

If I can find it anywhere dirt cheap I'll grab it. It's getting tough finding pre 90's stuff anywhere local, let alone late 70's iron.

All the brackets for the airconditioning came off a 301 engine and bolted to the pontiac 400 in the car now.
The only new parts installed was a new canister and compressor

I'm still on the lookout for this stuff if anyone has it laying around. Mainly need the brackets & lines.
