I was told a Pontiac and Oldsmobile V-8 use the same manual flywheel, same bolt pattern, ring gear, starter spacing, etc. Traditional Pontiacs ended in 79' so I guess the 60's and 70's motors would be concerned here. True or false?

Same starter and number of teeth. I would be surprised if the crank flange is the same.

OK, thank's. I have an Olds flywheel available and the guy swore it would fit a Pontiac. Figures.
