I am in the process of building the popular hot rodding 305 build for my 78 malibu landau (http://www.popularhotrodding.com/engine ... ne_blocks/). it is my first engine build. Has anyone done this build, anybody have any info, or suggestions? I have put this build up to the desktop dyno and with the combo i it says i should be making about 385 hp to the motor. Any info or suggestions would be appreciated thanks ray

I'd like to drive the car b4 and after or see timeslips because torque didn't change much until 3000RPM and HP is way up in the RPM range. I'm not knocking the 305, though. I've had a few and 2 I was impressed with. 1 i wasn't. Do it, it's different. Just take the car to the local strip for some 1/8 or 1/4 mile times first and when its done. Let us know.

I'm interested enough that I will go back and read the article now.

someone told me that you need a new motor to do all that becuase it,s build to much compression.

seems pretty cool i have a stock 305 wiht a tci transmission in my car and it seems to get the job done and people dont believe wuts under the hood after i tell them build it and let us all know how it turns out

just broke it in sounded mean small leak from transmisson pan but that is just from the washer around the plug other then that break in went great just waiting on the shifter can't wait to get it out on the road
