So I found out afew days ago that Posi units are interchangeable. With already knowing that gbody axels are 26 spline, what cars can I get a posi unit from??

The best/strongest set up out there is a 28 spline unit from 1993-2002 Camaro/Firebird used with some replacement axles for a Grand National 8.5. It will all fit the 7.5 housing. Most the WS6 and Z28 cars were posi with decent 3.23, 3.42, 3.73 gear ratios. The axles runs about $250-275 but, they are strong, like bracket race every weekend on a slicked up, low 11 second car.

Stay away from the governor-trac posi with the little weights and gears, you want the ones with springs/clutches (coan/auburn type). The F-body posi units are NOT re-build-able, so, good working used unit from salvage or parts car.

Way worth it! Just pull the cover and confirm the gear ratio and posi unit exist. Mini-spools and welders are out there!

On the F-body stuff, I used to own a 94 Z-28, guess how many rear-ends I blew up.... If you're planning big power, don't waste your money on it.

I'm gonna try and pick it up this weekend, I'm not planning nothing too big maybe 300hp or less. smog law here in California puts a limit on where Im going
