I have a power antenna in my 83 hurst. I replaced the relay with a new NOS relay and when I turn the radio on / off I just get a clicking sound from the glove box area. Would I get this sound if the antenna is bad. any help is appreciated thanks mark

Sounds like the relay is working, but the antenna motor obviously isn't. That's MY guess. Check the wiring connector for the antenna under the hood and see if that's intact. With electrical stuff, it could be anything from bad motors to a loose/corroded ground wire.

The car was repainted once so maybe the ground has bad connection? I never worked on an antenna before, does anyone know where the ground is on the 83 hurst?

IIRC it's under the dash on the right front, grounds right to the dash frame just under where the relay is at.
10mm bolt in plain sight once the under dash cover is removed.
These motors are notorious for going bad, the contacts corrode or get gummed up with grease.
I believe GM admitted that it was a faulty design back in '89.
You can make an attempt to repair the motor yourself, I've done it before and gbodyparts.com provides a service for $225 or thereabouts...
NOS ones go for that much on up.

I'll check the connections but sounds like you're right and I need a new motor $$$. Thanks Mark
