I have a power steering pump leak in my Olds V8 powered g-body.

I can't figure out where it is leaking from. It's not leaking from the hoses or the pump shaft. It looks like it might be coming from the front of the pump? When I re-installed the pump, I remember tightening the "6 O'clock" bolt at the bottom of the pump but not the "2 O'clock" bolt that is supposed to be under the pulley. Could this be the source of my leak?

Thanks in advance!

Yeah It could be, If you haven't already I'd suggest getting it really clean and warm the car up real good and have some one sit in it and turn the wheel back and forth while you have your head close to look for the source.

Maybe you could fly out from Ohio to give me a hand. 🙂 Just kidding. It's always difficult to find any1 to help, you know how it is.

I should have replaced the pump with a new one when I has the whole thing apart a few moths ago!

Yeah I'll fly out just to sit in the driver seat and turn your wheel for ya. LMAO! I can totally relate on not being able to find good help at times. It seems every time I hire a new tech they end up washing out and not working out. When It comes to working on my own cars I have been lucky enough to be able to get my girl to help on occasions. But she's no tech by any means.

Is the pump pressed into the reservoir? I'm thinking that I might have tweaked it when I tightened the belts?

Since I'm just a weekend backyard hacker, I just decided to spend the $50 and replace the pump. The overall project wasn't that bad with one exception. Removing and installing the pulley on the new pump was a pain in the butt! Done.
