The value on the 83-88 Monte SS g bodies are starting to climb some but i believe the value is there. I own an 86 SS loaded with options including T Tops. All original 21 thousand mile car. Black ext. Burgundy Int. Everything works. I paid 12,500 plus shipping and its worth every penny. Runs drives smells like a new car. To me thats cheap for such an iconic car. Sure they made lots of them but they are usually converted to race cars thrassed or crushed. Wouldnt sell mine ever but if i did it would be at the top of the scale.

That's a nice Monte, IMO you paid a fair price for a car you wanted but I don't see the value of it at this point in time being much more that what you have into it including what you paid for shipping, taxes, title etc.
In an auction setting you might be able to get a lot more for it but for your average buyer it would probably only be a minimal gain right now
Also many people prefer the 87'-88' for their smooth rear bumper cover and later model designed tail lights.

I looked for over a year before i bought this one. Im not a big fan of 87 or 88 although they are almost identical to mine. Theres a ton of those years out there. I didnt see a bunch of 86 models out there that were as nice as this one. Thats why i went with it. Also looked at aerocoupes but dont like the look. Look fine on a nascar but not on a street car. I know i paid all the money for mine but i didnt buy it with intentions of reselling it. Wife and i love it. Its part of our forever family now. 3 car shows last summer. Best in class trophy 2 of the 3. By the way thats a beautiful SS you have there.

You have a very nice well optioned low mile car that you bought for a price that is probably under market value and could you make a few thousand off it by selling, most likely but would it be worth it to do so probably not.
Thanks for the compliment on my car but it's not an SS it started it's life as a standard Monte CL

Yours sure has the looks of an SS. Out here in Oregon there are not many of these 4 gen Montes. Not like down south. So she gets a lot of looks.
Unlike your car the word "original" doesn't really apply to anything on my car.
