Well i've had the car for a little over a year, original bought it with essential no motor/ no trans, rebuilt everything, I've been doing allot of interior and exterior work, along with all of the mechanical work.

I would move the Monster Tach up above the heater contol panel...why look down at a tach? and get rid of that Edlebrock Foam BS air cleaner.. I had the foam crap fall into my holley when it backfired once in the mid 80's..What a mess... Im suprised it is still around. They should at the very least make a K&N style insert for that thing..

Other then that.. I like the tan interior with the back exterior.

that heater hose, that connects the heater send and return, you can just plug those. that hose looks pretty folded over anyways, lol.

Well the only reason i mounted the tac there was because it's clean/ neat, and i couldn't/ didn't want it on top of the dash. The only reason i bought that tac is because it was cheap, and i needed one.

Eventually i'm just doing to rebuild my own cluster gauge with new gauges.

As for the air cleaner, it's the only one that'll fit right now, i've got hood clearance issue's.

And thanks for the tip on that one hose, i was wondering what i was going to do with that.

Not picking or anything but the sill plate goes on top of the b pillar trim.

Doesn't the factory tach & guages work? 3.42s are highway gears? Maybe if you got an overdrive. Its hard to keep them light interiors clean. If you wet vac and clean in once it drys hit it with some staingard from Wallmart. It helps a lot.

Hey jrm, thanks for the advice man, fixed! 😀 I still need allot of interior pieces for my car though.

And dog, nope. I spent about a week playing with the tach, i thought at first it was just the wiring, but eventually figured out the tach itself was shot :/. Like i said, i'm keeping it mounted where it is for now, eventually i'm going to rebuild the cluster gauge with all new same-size fitting gauges, and do away with the obnoxious monster tach.

Oh and as for the highway gears thing, Yes i do have an overdrive, 700R4 pro-built, only down-side is i have a standard stall TC. Considering i daily drive this car, i won't even bother with another TC, plus when i get it up to PA i'm tearing out the trans and converting her to an manual, i've got a muncie M20/ M21 waiting to be installed, hopefully.

Already wet-vaced a few days ago, i'll grab some of that staingard and give it a try though, thanks for the tips!

Also, i'm not 100% sure i have 3.42's, all i know is the gears in the rear are stock, so i'm guessing they are 3.42's? i'm pretty sure thats what came stock in the 88 Monte SS's

I'm pretty sure the stock gears for that year should 3.73's.
