just took out the crappy olds v6 and 200r and junked everything. looking to clean and paint the engine bay was woundering wuts the best stuff to use to clean all the grease and grime out of the engine bay. after that i was goin to paint it with rustolium paint but it is really expensive. also wondering if there is any cheaper paints thanks.

the best grease remover ive ever used PERIOD is hiding under your kitchen sink... its call EASY OFF.. oven cleaner..make sure its the super nasty chemical burning...eye ripping..skin searing...yellow can..not the unscented watered down safe stuff...

liberally spray it on..and let it sit for an hour or so...go over the super nasty spots a few times...and loosen it up with a screwdriver..wear gloves this sh*t burns!!

 That is so right, that stuff is the nastiest cleaning stuff. I have also used unconcentrated simple green to clean an engine bay and it worked pretty good.

both of those work great. another good one-not as good as the others-is the chlorinated brake cleaner. do not breath it (especially if it hits something hot).
