They're just covers that go over the headlights I'm pretty sure.

Wow .. very interesting. Got any specs on that car? Is it yours?

Yes, I just bought it a couple weeks ago thru eBay 🙂

It's got a 455 Olds engine 30 over with forged 425 internals. TH400 trans with shift kit. Ford 9" with 3.55-ish gears. Oversized rear disc brakes.

The guy I bought it from put in the 3.55 gears with posi. The owner before him did all the work and it had granny gears. I think they were 2.80 or something (I don't know much about gear ratios for Ford 9"). I'm sure the 2.80 would be perfect for touring, definately has to get better gas mileage with a 3 speed.

I'm thinking about swapping back to something like a 2.80. Now I'm only getting like 6-10 mpg. yikes!

Everything you see in the pics was as I bought the car 🙂

Oh and it's definately set up for touring, lol. It survived the 800 mile drive home with no problems 🙂 Great suspension and firm ride.

I will probably make a post so everyone can tell me all what this car has in it.....I'm still learning more about this car every day

It's a 2-headlight setup, he's not using those PIAA driving lights. They're the covers I posted a pic of. You usually see 'em on a lot of old school hot rods.

The only thing from a 425 that would be forged would be the crank, what type of rods are you running and what is your displacement?
Just curious, I would assume you are at 431 C.I.???
You can take them oversquare 425's up to higher RPM's than the 455's.
