Gas is going to get high and over-drive looks nice!

I found a guy selling a running nice shifting 700R4 from a 92 Chevy 2500 going to get it Saturday. There is so much info in the Trans and videos I am going to do a rebuild and shift kit on it my self.

This is going on my 396 BBC 375hp it will be a driver and 1~2 trips to the track just street tires. I am running 3.42 rear gears and ill run a 2,500 stall

Parts I know I am going to need.
Rebuild kit
Shift Kit
700r4 corvette servo
Harden Sun shell
What rebuild kit & shift do you recommend? Or any other upgraded hard parts?

Parts for the car.
Crosse member
And cut down my drive shaft
What other stuff to note when installing this trans…?

I used the "Gil Younger Shift Kit " on mine I liked the fact that it had the parts to tune the governor weights so you can dial in the shift points. I also used his TransGo master rebuild kit. Very good quality.
I am using the Painless TCC Kit, It works flawlessly.
I also reworked my old 350 down shift cable bracket , So the 700TV cable would work.
Mine came out of a 91 Caprice Police car, It sure make my El Camino nice on the road trips.

are you doing the rebuild yourself? if you do i recommend you goto boxwrench.com and buy a video.

Not completely sure but that year may have an electronic sender for the speedo. So you may need to convert it back to cable driven or go aftermarket with your speedo or do without lol.
