Hello Everyone, new to this group. I have some questions about doing the swap from the 350C to a 200r4 Trans. I am told it is a fairly easy swap. I have the trans and crossmember for the 200 and some other bits and pieces. My question comes to the lock up converter. I am told to put 12volts to one of the pins on the trans and it will then lock up. Question when it locks up, what makes it unlock. and is there a way to adjust the speed when it locks up?
Thanks in advance

Locks up in fourth (over drive). Normally after car gets up to speed, shifts into overdrive, the TQ Converter locks up shortly after, somewhere about 30 secs or less.

I have been running this B & M torque convertor lock up for 5 years now in my Regal with a 200R4 and it works great, you just dial in the speed you want it to lock up at on the dash mounted switch and you don't have to drop the trans pan to install it, of coarse when I bought it was around $200 in 2019.

You can see the control unit next to the column.

Thank you for the comeback., last question what causes it to unlock?

Usually, when you use the brakes, there is a plunger switch mounted on a bracket that is part of the brake pedal assembly that, then depressed by the arm of the pedal, causes the lock up to quit, Typically, when you accelerate, it can either come back on line immediately, or wait until you hit 4th/OVD and then kick in.

Also, and already mentioned, the correct tension on the TVS cable is absolutely critical. Too tight and it shifts too early, too much slack and the shifts take forever. Either way is a death sentence for your transmission. As for the wiring harness, You might have to harvest that from a hulk in a salvage yard, or go looking to see if they are available new. I think that there is still one attached to my own 200R4 but for obvious reasons it is not out for offers.

This kit is fairly complete, but more designed for vehicle that never had a lock up style trans.

Notice brake light switch... If you don't have this you need this wired in also. The TQ Cnv needs to unlock when you apply brakes and also prior to any down shift.

Also check out info 565bbchevy sent.

I run mine hooked to a $5.00 toggle switch on the lower part of the dash. Flick it on at highway speeds, flick it off once you get off the highway. If you forget the car will start bucking reminding you to turn it off.
