hey all. I am having a bit of trouble trying to find a rebuild kit for my quadrajet I got today. i twas off my dads olds 350 he had in his '81 grand prix. The ID number on the side is 170572530757 and then has the letters APW. What do these mean, and what kit should I get? how do I go about looking up the kit by that number? from what I was able to figure out myself, the carb is from that same '76 olds motor. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

decoding by Cliff Ruggles' book:
1705= 1976-1979
7=1977
2=federal emissions
5=oldsmobile
3=trans type. odd is usually manual trans, but not always...
0757= built on the 75st day of 1977
apw= usually just a plant code

usually a good seasoned parts person can go to the books and find the kit # in the catalogs, but nowadays that's hard to find... hope this info helps

And sweet GP btw. My dad had an '81. I have some pics of it under the "LETS SEE SOME GRAND PRIX'S" thread.
