Questions about engine and trans

i have a 305 . I think it's time for something faster but not going to be at a high price
Does anybody have any suggestions where I can buy a engine and trans from for a decent price ?

Local wrecker will/should have plenty of 350s to choose from. If not, check craigslist. People sometimes sell fully done up engines for a few grand. Easiest and most cost effective swap is a 350 Chevy, in your case. What transmission and rear do you have?
