Quick Oil Pan ?

That may be pushing it. If I do recall, there's only an inch at the most of clearance between the pan and the crossmember. I could be wrong, but I dont think you can get the pan all the way off, but if it drops down an inch you could theoretically install a new gasket, but you would have an issue cleaning the old gasket material off. I believe the problem you would have is the fact that the oil pump pickup will not allow you to get the pan off. Like I said, I could be wrong, lets see if someone elese will chime in on the subject before you take my advice on this topic. May look into removing the motor mount bolts and loosening the trans mount up. Then you can place a jack with a block of wood across the transmission to jack the assembly up a bit to get the pan off.

You can get the pan out, but not without jacking up the motor.
You're not going to be able to change the gasket without completely removing the pan.

Remove the motor mount thru-bolts and the distributor cap, and you may have to loosen your fan shroud as well if you're using one. You'll have to pull the starter out too.
I know people say not to jack up on the harmonic balancer, but I've done it plenty of times, just put a block of wood under it.
If you have access to an engine hoist you can hook up to it instead, by all means, do so.

I'll tell you this, it's a huge pain in the *ss, but it's do-able.

Jacking it up and removing the pan isn't bad at all. But wait until it is time to clean the old gasket off of the block and then put the new pan back on! I had to use an air powered gasket scraper to get my block cleaned up good. That cross member makes it very hard! Also, you will need to remove the cross over exhaust tube and there is a good chance the bolts will break off which means the manifolds will probably need to be removed to fix the broken bolts. And then, you risk breaking a manifold bolt off in the head requiring the head to be removed. Does that sound far fetched? It isn't. That's pretty much what my world was like a couple months ago!

That said, I have to remove my pan to change my oil pump when I have a chance. But, at least the bolts are fresh, I just replaced the gasket so it should come off easily. I still dread jacking up the engine and wrestling under the car with those little pan bolts, though!

Final advice, set aside a big block of time in case you don't get your car back together for a few weeks! Just in case.
