i just got a 455 olds which will make it into 1 of my cars real soon here, but what im wondering is, i got a 307 with the roller cam and im wondering if the roller lifters are the same from the 307 to the 455,i was looking up parts from summit and it claimed yes and no,has anyone done it ??????

No. I forget what the difference is, but it does not work. I am assuming it is a different lifter bore size and probably some other things.

No. The roller lifters in the 307 are .921" in diameter. Your 455 takes .842" lifters.

Most Olds engines had the .842" lifters. There were exceptions though.

I believe there were a few early 425's with .921" lifter bores as well as the later Olds 350 diesel engines. But I'm not entirely sure on which years, etc.

not to hackjack this thread or nothing, but can i use my complete roller valvetrain from a 7a 307 olds into a 73 olds 350?

Again, no. ALL Olds gasoline blocks from 1968-1985 used 0.842" lifters. The 1985-1990 307s with 7A heads and roller lifters used 0.921" lifters. More importantly the factory roller lifters are heavy and not suited for high RPM use.
